What is it?
The Lenexa Police Youth Academy is a two-week summer program for youth ages 13-17. The program is a fun, interactive learning experience designed to:
- teach students about law enforcement, its challenges and the philosophy of teamwork
- promote a greater understanding between our community’s youth and the Lenexa Police Department
- help students develop skills to keep themselves safe from dangers in the community
When is it?
The 2012 Police Youth Academy will be held July 30 through August 3.
Who can attend?
The Police Youth Academy is open to applicants 13-17 years with limited prior police or criminal contacts. Applicants must be a Lenexa resident, attend school in Lenexa, or have a parent or guardian who works in Lenexa.
How do I apply?
To apply, complete the application request form, available online or at the Lenexa Police Station, and an application with instructions will be mailed to you.
