All security agents are required to have a certificate to work in Lenexa, issued by the Lenexa Police Department.
How to obtain a permit
Permits are processed at any time of day. New agents and renewals must provide a signed/notarized affidavit and completed application for permit supplied by the guard company. The guard company must hold a business license to operate in the city.
The signed/notarized affidavit supplied by the guard company will verify that each security agent has been subjected to a complete and diligent background investigation to determine if they meet the minimum requirements of the city. The Lenexa Police Department does not conduct this background investigation.
