Domestic battery

Domestic Violence Protocol
The Johnson County District Attorney's office maintains a Domestic Violence Protocol that must be followed by all agencies in Johnson County. It calls for the immediate arrest of the suspect, if possible, and provides several options for the battered spouse and any children involved. Domestic battery is just one part of domestic violence. Several other crimes are covered under the same acts by the District Attorney's office.

Reporting domestic battery

To report domestic battery, call the Lenexa police dispatcher at 9-1-1 or call 913.477.7301. Give the dispatcher the information requested, and remain on the phone if instructed to do so. By remaining on the phone, the dispatcher can monitor the situation and tell the police officers if the situation escalates. They can also let you know when the officers will arrive to provide the necessary assistance. You will be provided medical care and an ambulance if you need one, along with information on safe homes for you and your children. Information will be provided to you about restraining orders, if you desire.
