Pool passes and fees
Lenexa offers three swimming facilities: Ad Astra, Flat Rock Creek (closed for renovations in 2011) and Indian Trails Aquatic Center. Admittance to the pools is available to residents and nonresidents for a daily admission fee or by season pass. See pool fee information for pricing and instructions on how to obtain a pool pass.
If you purchased a pool pass last year, you may reuse your old pool pass ID card once you renew your membership. If you no longer have your pool pass ID card, you will need to come to the Community Center to purchase a new one.
If you lose your pool pass card anytime during the season, there is a $10 charge for a replacement card, and $5 charge for an extra card made for those who need one for a child’s daycare.
Pool rules
- All individuals must be properly attired in bathing suits if entering the water. Street clothes, cutoffs, aqua socks or colored t-shirts are not permitted in the pool. White t-shirts only may be worn over swimsuits while in the water. Bathing suits are required to be worn over swim diapers.
- Food or drinks are not allowed on the pool deck.
- Children who are not potty trained are required to wear swim diapers, which are for sale at all pools. Swim diapers ensure the pool water stays clean and clear, and prevents pool closings due to contamination.
- U.S. Coast Guard-approved flotation devices are permitted; an adult must stay within one arm's length. Users of flotation devices are not permitted on slides, diving boards or rock walls.
- Individuals 8 years and younger must be accompanied by an adult.
- Pool toys are allowed in the zero-depth area, with the exception of torpedoes, hard diving sticks, beach balls, rafts, noodles, etc.
- Individuals must be at least 42 inches tall to use the water slides.
- Additional rules are posted throughout the facility. Parks and Recreation staff can change, modify or add rules as deemed necessary for safety.
Weather closing policy
All pools open at noon each day during the swim season, weather permitting. Otherwise, all pools will attempt to open at 4 p.m. If the weather does not permit Ad Astra to open by 4 p.m., it will not open for that day. Indian Trails Aquatic Center will attempt to remain open, if at all possible. Please call the pool before you leave home.
For the safety of our valued patrons, pool hours may be adjusted for: - inclement weather
- extreme water temperature
- unsuitable swimming conditions
Pool rental information
Do you want to have a private pool party, but don’t have a swimming pool? Ad Astra Pool is available to rent to Lenexa residents for private parties. Fun for family gatherings, birthdays, scout groups, back-to-school parties and more! Rentals are available Monday through Saturday from 8:15 to 10:15 p.m. Call the Community Center office at 913.477.7100 for pricing and more information.
