Curbside Cleanup

As a service for Lenexa residents, the city provides an annual curbside pickup event for collection of large, unwanted items.

2012 Curbside Cleanup dates

Curbside Cleanup for 2012 are June 9 for residents east of Lackman Road and June 16 for residents living west of Lackman Road.

How to use the service

  • Place your items at the curb line by 7 a.m. on your designated pickup date. The contractor will begin pickup at 7 a.m. and will complete pickup for the assigned area on the same day.
  • Examples of acceptable items are: furniture, appliances, swing sets, carpet, etc.
  • We cannot accept tires, concrete, rocks, dirt, shingles, batteries, waste oil, paint or other hazardous materials, or electronics (such as computers and TVs).
  • Loose items such as brush, lumber, fencing, metal posts and swing sets must be cut to four feet and bundled no heavier than 65 pounds per bundle. Bundles must be easily handled by one person.

Fees
This service is free of charge, but a $35 non-refundable fee will apply for the collection of any white good involving Freon.

If you have a white good containing Freon:

  • Call the office at 913.477.7550 by noon the Friday before your designated pickup date to make an appointment for a pickup.
  • Pay a $35 non-refundable fee in advance by cash, check or credit card.
